Hi Paul; If you like the thump and pull of big singles, then you will like the Savage. It really does best on back roads (scenic) but I take mine out on the interstate once in a while and run between 65 and 75. Don't worry about blowing the motor at those speeds, it will do all-right if you keep up the oil and change regular. I put a windshield on mine and it made a big difference in cruising speed, took a lot of the pressure off and even seems to add to the speed. The bike is light as you know, so it really isn't so comfortable at high speed, but does real well on hilly, curvy, two lane blacktop.(Pennsylvania)
It's all in the way you want to ride what kind of bike you want, but the Savage motor will hold up good with reasonable care. Some of the comments on this site speak of high mileage like 50 to 80 thousand miles, so that should give some confidence. Frank M.
